Description

What  can we do?
Observations of water, ice and snow can be done in each month:
1.     December, 2010 - first observations and experiments, also developing simple methods to get ice bricks and lenses.
2.     January, 2011 - observations and investigation, discussions;
3.     February, 2011 - observations and investigation, discussions;
4.     Maybe first part of March, 2011 - depends on temperature and ice consistence in rivers and lakes;
5.     April, 2011 - publishing and comparing results.
All experiments and investigations can be documented with photos and videoclips, also described in text documents.
About observations and investigations
1.     Optical observations, investigations and experiments:
1.     Cube and cilinders of ice must be documented in photos and videos. It could be nice to take photos of structure inside ice bricks (cubes and ciliders) and to compare these photos with photos taken in other project partner schools.
2.     Investigation of  ice bricks  using laser pointer beam - experiments with laser beam refraction and reflection in ice bricks. Each school can try their own methods, in the end of project it can be useful to compare methods developed by each school. Collection can be interesting and useful
2.     Finding microorganisms:
1.     Can we see some microorganisms in ice bricks? Investigate your ice bricks with lenses, take high resolution photos of an  inside of  ice bricks (it can be useful to use light in the back of ice brick).
2.      Ivestigation of water with microscope (water we get from ice bricks). How big concentration of microorganisms can we find? How clear water is in our rivers and lakes? Can we use this water in our everyday life?
3.     Work with results of investigation
1.     Analysis of photos and videos.
2.     Measurements ofn photos of experiments with laser pointer beam in ice bricks.
3.     Building graphs of measurement results.
4.     Etc. - each school can add something new
Results of project
1.     Publications of each project partner school on the project blog.
2.     Photo and video clip gallery of project.
3.     Comparing results.
